Comican't

Once a year, Australia’s largest comic convention awards the best dressed competitor with the ultimate Prize, the ComiCrown. This year a plucky young costume connoisseur named Tony is sure he’s going to win.

But when his best friend Steve makes them miss the last bus to the convention; they have no choice but to set out on an epic adventure across the city or risk losing the crown forever.

Or, well, for at least ... a year.

The film made a splash at its 2019 TROPFEST premiere in Sydney, Australia, winning second place for Best Film and earning joint Best Male Lead Actor awards for Ryan New and Andrew Tresidder. Since then, it has been viewed by over a million people.

Acknowledgement of Country

As storytellers, we acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation, the traditional owners of the land we gather on. We’re grateful to create on this land, knowing storytelling has been part of its history for thousands of years. It has held cultures and communities long before us, and we honour the strength, wisdom, and resilience of Elders who continue to care for it today. We recognise the impact of colonisation and the absence of a treaty, and we commit to amplifying the voices of First Nations peoples and working towards truth, justice, and reconciliation. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
